WENDY｜世田谷から世界へ

東京・世田谷を拠点に活動する、21歳〜23歳の3ピースロックバンド。2020年10月、コロナ禍の中で居場所を見失い、模索していた10代のメンバーが、音楽を拠り所として結成された。

70年代〜80年代ロックをルーツに、ヒップホップやカントリーの要素を融合した独自のソングライティングと、衝動的で生々しく、感情をむき出しにしたライブパフォーマンスを武器に活動。パンデミックによって形作られた世代の怒りや焦燥――いわば“青春のロストボーイズ”の精神を体現している。

結成当初から掲げてきたテーマは「世田谷から世界へ」。全楽曲を英語詞で制作し、国内外を視野に入れた活動を展開。結成直後にはソニー・ミュージックパブリッシングとマネージメント契約を締結した。

2022年には下北沢BASEMENT BARでの初ワンマンライブをソールドアウトさせ、『SUMMER SONIC 2022』に出演。2023年には『METROCK 2023』にも出演し、ライブシーンで大きな注目を集める。

同年、ビクターエンタテインメントより1stアルバム『Don’t waste my YOUTH』をリリースし、メジャーデビュー。プロデューサーには、グラミー賞受賞作品『We Are』（Jon Batiste）にも携わったマーク・ウィットモアを迎え、全曲ライブ録音で制作。制作過程は『SOUND & RECORDING』誌でも特集された。

2025年にはイギリスのレーベル JPU Records と契約し、アナログ盤をリリース。UKではバーミンガムおよびロンドンの The Water Rats にてワンマンライブを開催。さらにアメリカでは、ロサンゼルスの Whisky a Go Go を含む西海岸5公演を実施するなど、海外での活動を本格化させている。

次世代ロックシーンの中で、確かな存在感を放つWENDY。
その衝動は、すでに世界へ向かっている。

WENDY, FROM SETAGAYA TO THE WORLD 

WENDY is a three-piece rock band from Setagaya, Tokyo, formed in October 2020 by teenage musicians searching for purpose and belonging during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Drawing inspiration from 1970s and 1980s rock while blending elements of hip-hop and country, WENDY has developed a distinctive sound defined by powerful songwriting and raw, emotionally charged live performances. Their music captures the frustration, uncertainty, and hope of a generation shaped by the pandemic—embodying the spirit of today’s “lost youth.”

Since day one, WENDY has embraced the vision of “From Setagaya to the World.” Every song is written in English, reflecting the band’s ambition to connect with audiences beyond Japan. Shortly after forming, they signed a management deal with Sony Music Publishing Japan.

In 2022, WENDY sold out their first headline show at BASEMENTBAR in Shimokitazawa and performed at SUMMER SONIC 2022. The following year, they appeared at METROCK 2023, establishing themselves as one of Japan’s most exciting emerging live acts.

Later in 2023, WENDY made their major-label debut with the release of their first full-length album, Don’t waste my YOUTH, through Victor Entertainment. Produced by Mark Whitmore, who contributed to Jon Batiste’s Grammy Award-winning album We Are, the record was captured entirely live in the studio. The recording process was also featured in SOUND & RECORDING Magazine.

In 2025, WENDY signed with UK label JPU Records and released their album on vinyl. They headlined shows in Birmingham and at London’s legendary The Water Rats, while also expanding into the U.S. with a five-date West Coast tour, including a performance at the iconic Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles.

Driven by uncompromising rock ‘n’ roll and fearless live performances, WENDY continues to build a growing international audience.

From Setagaya to the world—the journey has only just begun.
